Darrel Hoke

Darrel Hoke ‘83
Treasurer, SLAA

Aloha fellow St. Louis Alumni brothers!! I am Darrel Hoke from the Class of 1983. It has been an honor to serve as your Treasurer for the past two and one-half years filling in for the Honorable Judge Jim Burns. I only hope that I fulfilled his position to his satisfaction. If elected for a three-year term, I hope that I can continue to serve the St. Louis Alumni Association membership to the best of my ability. I also would like to continue the foundational work of those before me and continue to work with St. Louis School to make sure we Alumni do what we can to help St. Louis School be successful!!! Over my 4+ years serving SLAA as Finance Committee Chair and then as the Treasurer, SLAA:

  • Followed through and built upon on all past efforts of previous board members and helped make CLAT 1 and CLAT 2 a reality for SLAA and SLS;
  • Met all debt service requirements on its FHB loan and will payoff that loan September 2013;
  • Achieved positive actual vs. budget variance results for the past three years;
  • Instituted an Investment Policy and Asset Allocation to govern its investments

I am a CPA with more than 25 years of experience in business and financial-related industries. I am presently the Kamehameha Schools Director of Internal Audit with audit oversight of the education, endowment and administrative operations. Prior to working at Kamehameha Schools, I was a senior vice president at Bank of Hawaii overseeing budgeting, cost accounting and risk-based management reporting as well as spending six years with the accounting firm Ernst & Young.
